Initial assessment: $86.00-$96.00 Follow-ups: $71.00- $81.00 Senior rate (65+): $61.00- $71.00 Women's Health Women's Health enfolds a broad spectrum of issues that can be treated by physiotherapy. At Performance Physiotherapy we treat a number of conditions from back pain during pregnancy, blocked milk ducts post-partum to incontinence problems faced by women of all ages. A recent addition to our clinic includes a "neurotrac unit" which interfaces with a computor soft-ware program. This enables the therapist to measure and record your pelvic floor strength on the first and subsequant visits, marking improvements with objective measures. As well the unit can be used as a treatment tool to help you isolate and train your muscles to either contract or relax more effectively (depending on your issue). This can help with stress and urge incontinence, voiding difficulties, back/pelvic pain or pain during intercourse. Phone our office for pricing. Acupuncture Will be billed as Physiotherapy. IMS-Intra Muscular Stimulation Intramuscular Stimulation(IMS) is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin. IMS was developed by Dr. Chan Gunn while he was a clinic physician at Worker's compensation Board of British Columbia. Dr. Gunn has introduced "neuropthic pain" to describe pain that shows no signs of tissue damage or inflammation, such as headaches, "whiplash", backache, tennis elbow or frozen shoulder. Typically this occurs when nerves malfuction following minor irritation. Nerves and nerve endings become extremely sensitive and cause innocent, harmless signals to be exaggerated and misunderstood as painful ones. this charactersitic is known medically as supersensitivity. The result is pain even when extensive medical tests show there is "nothing wrong". This is where IMS can help. Please check the IMS page for more details on what IMS can do for you! Will be billed as Physiotherapy Education and Prevention Also under the umbrella of physiotherapy and kinesiology, our therapists feel education and prevention is the best resource we have to offer. We have done specific injury prevention workshops as well as sport specific athletic training, for target sports groups such as competitive swimmers and figure skaters. We have done site visits to help clients set up an ergonomic office. We offer general lectures on topics such as Stretching 101, and the benefits of acupuncture as well as specific workshops for groups such as minor sports coaches. Check out the 'Our Programs' page for our current planned programs including lifestyle/fitness classes, cardiac rehab and spinal stability to name just a few. We are always looking to do more at your request! We will be happy to cater to your individual or group needs. Massage Therapy Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the body's soft tissue (muscle, skin, tendons, etc) in order to relax areas of the body and promote better health. It can help to improve function of these soft tissues along with the blood and lymph systems which helps relieve pain and restore function. There are many benefits, both physical and mental which aid in the recovery from injury. At Performance we have found an increase in client satisfaction, recovery time, and quality of life when massage therapy is combined with physio. Our Registered Massage Therapists perform many different types of massages, such as Craniosacral, relaxation, deep tissue therapeutic massage, myofascial and more.
